- What kind of cameras do you use?
- Where are you getting these blog post titles? They're lyrics from songs. Sometimes they stand out to me, sometimes I have to find them. I try to attribute them to the song and artist with a footnote at the end of the post. Since my blog is really old, a lot of titles went unattributed, so my project is to find them and label them accordingly. If you see a lyric you like and it's not labeled, let me know!
The cameras I use are Canon Eos 50d, and sometimes, Canon Rebel XT. Old school, I know. I use the Rebel XT as my "beater" camera since it still works fine. I used to be a big proponent of "all DSLR all the time", but then I got lazy. Now it's predominantly my iPhone X. And then there's:
- o Fujifilm Instax Mini, Hello Kitty Edition
- o Lubitel 166+
- o Holga 120 Cfn
- o Lomography Fisheye
- o Lomography La Sardina
- Why did you name your cat Martin Gore? If you've been a follower of this blog, you know Depeche Mode is my all-time favorite band. I'm pretty sure my animal coven will be named after the remaining DM members. Marty, as we called him, sadly passed away in December 2016.
- Where did you find Marty? I had the pleasure of finding Marty at the San Francisco SPCA. Adopt, don't shop!
- Why do you have two blog names: Sound in Water and Proper Social Etiquette? I know it's confusing! "Sound in Water" was chosen because I studied marine biology, not because it's in a Ten in the Swear Jar song (though that was pretty cool). I choose "Proper Social Etiquette" because I was fascinated with Emily Post's social etiquette rules, and thus named it my radio show. Since this blog is a time capsule of my former college radio DJ life, I brought it back to include all the other things I enjoy!
- Do you make money off the links in your blog? No, I don't. I don't have affiliate links or anything. These are just things that caught my eye. I do, however, have a shop on Tradesy, as well as a shop on eBay. Those funds primarily pay off my expenses and help clean out my closet.
- You never put pictures of yourself before. why now? The internet is a mean place, and for the longest time, I couldn't / didn't want to deal with the bullying, trolling, and stalking that goes along with putting yourself out there. However, I'm at the age where I shouldn't have to defend my identity to and conform to beauty constructs of a bunch of entitled strangers. Also, the internet is vast, and, according to my page views, my footprint here is tiny.
- That being said, I am still creeped out with putting myself out there.
